Apple Isle Employer Support Recognised
Northern Tasmania employers who support Australian Defence Force Reservists are being formally thanked through Defence Reserves Support’s recognition program.
The Supportive Employer program aims to highlight best practice in Reservist employee support across of the private and public sectors.
Defence Reserves Support Council (Northern Tasmania) Chair Christine Hepburn said more than 35 employers had been presented with certificates to date and the response to the program had been overwhelming.
“We have presented certificates to 38 Supportive Employers and are in the process of presenting 26 more,” Ms Hepburn said.
“Some of these will be presented at our upcoming employer function being hosted on 19th October, while the balance of certificates will be personally delivered to their place of business, with photos taken to mark the occasion.
“Employers who have been recognised take great pride in their certificate and involvement in our supportive employer community. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to each any every supportive employer and take the time to personally deliver their certificate to their place of business.”
Each supportive employer is provided with a copy of the presentation photo to use on their website, on social media, or in their marketing.
Launceston printing business ‘Foot and Playsted’ Director Ross Martin said his firm recognised the skills his ADF Reservist employee brought to the civilian workplace and appreciated being formally recognised as a supportive employer.
“Many of the skills learnt in the military are directly transferable to our workplace,” Mr Martin said.
“We acknowledge the benefits and are happy to be a supportive employer”.
