Each year, ADF Reservists are encouraged to nominate their civilian employers as part of the Employer Support Awards in recognition of their continued support. However, the current COVID-19 situation remains a concern for many communities across Australia.
The remaining 2021 state and territory Employer Support Award events have been cancelled in line with the additional restrictions for states and territories to reduce the risk of community transmission. As a result, we look forward to recognising each of the award-winning civilian employers, as nominated by their ADF Reservist employees, and sharing their stories online instead.
Defence remains committed to ensuring our events and celebrations are held in a COVID-safe manner and we remain hopeful we can invite our State Employer Support winners to the National Employer Support Awards in November 2021.
